Cutting time + materials = price
When you need something laser cut, of course you also want to know what your design will cost to be laser cut. We totally understand this at cotter.dk, which is why we have created an easy online-based solution.
You need a vector-based PDF file that contains the design of what you would like to have laser cut. You upload the file to our site via “Upload”. Here, you first define how you would like us to laser cut your lines – whether they need cutting, vector- or raster engraving. You can read more about this in the previous section “Guide to setting up files”. You are then given the chance to select one of our materials that you can have laser cut. Remember that you also need to choose the thickness of the sheet you would like laser cutting.
Once you have defined these variables, the system will give you the price of your laser cutting in exactly the settings you have defined. You can switch between the materials and the thicknesses and see the price change accordingly.
How is the price calculated?
The price for each design depends, among other things, on how long it takes to cut the specific design.
When the system calculates a price, it uses information about the specific material. The cutting time refers to the amount of time the laser takes to actually cut the design. This cutting time depends on the hardness and thickness of the material, as well as the complexity of your design. These factors vary from material to material, and of course also from design to design.
Cutting time + materials = price
That’s why we cannot calculate a price until we have seen the design.
The material costs are added to the cutting time. These two elements are added together to make the total price for your design.
If you are curious about what our materials cost, you can see the price information listed under each material. You will find our material list here.
