Nice to know

TroLase, black/cobber. TroLase is an acrylic based engraving laminat. It can be used in doors as well at out doors. However, the material is not UV resistant. Please, get in touch with us for UV resistant options.
The material consists of an acrylic bottom with a thin laminat on top. Engraving the material removes the top laminat, which creates a nices contrast which is great for signage.

TroLase is a great alternative to foil on acrylic, as the laminat can not be removed.

Our acrylic sheets generally have a protective film on both sides to help prevent burn marks. If the sheet is only to be laser cut, we leave the film on. If the sheet is to be raster engraved, the film is removed from the side that is to be engraved.

Vector and raster engraving

Raster engraving the acrylic removes the copper laminat, brings out the black acrylic and creates the contrast.

Laser cutting

Top – No burn marks. In general, a protective film is applied that should be removed after you have received your cutting. Has a clean, sharp appearance. When raster engraving, the film will be removed before cutting. The cutting process can create a matt, white deposition of smoke close to the cutting edge.

Edges – No burn marks. Have a sharp appearance and are in the same colour as the actual material.

Bottom – No burn marks. Has a clean, sharp appearance. In general, a protective film is applied that should be removed after you have received your cutting.

Finishing treatment

TroLase can be cleaned using water and soap.

Use glue and cleaning supplies without solvent.
