Nice to know

The fibres are colored individually and glued together. The boards are water resistant and the glue makes the material suitable for furniture, kitchens and even bathroom furniture.

Do NOT use any oils on the boards that contain pure linseed oil.

Forescolor comes in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, light grey, dark grey and black.

Thickness in 8mm, 16mm and 19mm.

Since Forescolor is a composite product, the colors can vary a bit. from board to board.

Vector and raster engraving

Both vector and raster engraving are possible. The material gains a darker colour in the engraved areas. The thicker the engraving, the darker the colour.

Raster engraving is only possible in A formats.

Avoid burn marks

At the time of your order, you can choose to add protective film to avoid the worst marks caused by smoke damage and the cutting process. However, applying a protective film is not possible when raster engraving.

Laser cut

Top –  A slight darkening of the wood will appear along the score lines. This can be removed by applying a film before cutting. You can choose to add this option when you place your order. As a standard, there is a
protective film on the front of the sheet.

Edges – The edges look brownish and can rub off. This can be removed by wiping with a cloth or lightly sanding. If you sand the edges, you will be able to see the color of the board. The thicker the board, the darker the edges.

Bottom – There will be some discoloration on the bottom after the cutting process. Usually it is a honeycomb pattern, depending on the material on which it has been cut. You can opt to add a protective film to your order, which will remove most of this. For A formats, you can also choose to add a double-sided adhesive tape, enabling you to put your design up on a wall without the use of any nails and screws. Please, be aware that for heavy items you should use mounting glue instead of adhesive tape.

Forescolor can be painted, oiled or lacquered to protect the surface and edges. Avoid oils containing pure linseed.
